Football Euphoria

Two weeks ago I was infected with excitement by my football crazy son's tension and anticipation before the finals of the United European Football Associations Champions League final match between arch rivals Chelsea and Manchester United.And he being a die-hard ManU fan was exhilarated no end when ManU emerged the winner!And now with the Euro 2008 tournament ready to kick off in a couple of days,there is an aura of football fever and the old excitement in the household.May the best team win!And it looks like Portugal's Ronaldo is everyone's favourite.

Birthdays

With an aunt's 70th birthday and a sister-in-law nearly-reaching senior citizen age -2 days back,makes me recollect how birthdays and other anniversaries were always given importance by my mummy and daddy .And now I realise how this helped to build in me and the others in the family the importance of strong family ties.Family bonds sure do get strengthened and tightened by just one little gesture of remembering fondly the birthdays of near and dear ones,far and close ones,old and young ones!

Back to School

The arrival of June means the reopening of schools after the summer vacation.It heralds the sight of kids trudging to school with their satchels slung on their shoulders or strapped on their backs,wearing crisp new uniforms and new,shiny black shoes-all the while prattering endlessly of the happenings during the recently ended vacation.It surely is that time of the year when it is Back to School!!And that reminds me of that[Back to School]being the slogan for the shoe giant Bata to advertise their school shoes models.
